Are you

An Unusual

Woman?

I went through a stage 3 bowel cancer diagnosis in 2022 which was followed by major surgery and 4 rounds of chemotherapy. This was my greatest initiation after becoming a mother. What was unusual about me? How I healed once the physical treatments stopped…

Unusual Women exists because I do not believe the mainstream story about cancer tells the whole truth.

The story we are given is narrow.

It is built on fear, tragedy and survival.

It leaves little room for meaning, identity or what happens after the treatment ends.

But the women I am here for are not ordinary in the way culture expects.

Unusual Women are the ones who have been through cancer and come out the other side changed.

More awake.

More questioning.

More aware that their old life no longer fits.

They are not just trying to get back to who they were.

They are asking who they are becoming, and what this deep dark night of the soul truly meant for them - not just in everyday life, but in the context of their purpose in this lifetime.

This is what makes Unusual Women unusual.

I do not work with the idea that a diagnosis only takes something away.

I work with the truth that it also reveals something deep.

Something about your body.

Your values.

Your boundaries.

Your purpose.

That does not mean cancer is good.

It means it is powerful.

And power can be met with fear or with consciousness.

Unusual Women is where we choose consciousness.

It is for people who have been given the all clear and find themselves standing in a strange in-between place.

Not sick anymore.

Not the same as before.

Quietly asking, what now?

We explore your experience as

a soul-level initiation.

We look at your story, your cycles, your chart, and what this moment in your life is asking of you.

Not so you become a victim of what happened.

But so you can become the author of what comes next.

I know this way of seeing things is not mainstream.

I know it will not please everyone.

That some people may even call this victim blaming.

The irony is that this approach is all about stepping out of victim mentality.

Some people prefer to blame cancer for the bits of life they are not happy with - to some extent this is encouraged when we see cancer as more fearful that it needs to be.

Unusual Women lives in the space beyond blame and victimhood.

It is where your experience is allowed to be complex, meaningful and deeply personal.

Where you are not reduced to a diagnosis.

Where what you have been through becomes a doorway into truth rather than something you have to carry alone.

This is not cancer support in the usual way.

This is for Unusual Women who know, quietly or loudly, that their life is not meant to shrink after this.

It is meant to open.

Have you ever Questioned the Mainstream Narrative?

When I look at how cancer is presented in our culture, it is almost always through fear and devastation.

Shows like Stand Up To Cancer on TV rely on the most tragic stories to raise money - the person is ill, everyone cries, and most often they die. I understand why those stories are used. I am not taking away the absolute devastation and tragedy of those stories. But when that is all we see, it quietly teaches us that a cancer diagnosis is always a death sentence.

Where are the stories of people who go through it and are okay?

Where are the stories of people who survive and go on to live deeply, differently and more truthfully?

They are rarely shown. They are not dramatic enough.

We are constantly presented with posters saying

1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetimes.”

This along with the stories we are presented with means that when

we go through a diagnosis, the level of anxiety, fear and dread is often one of the worst parts.

That doesn’t need to be the case.

On social media, I see another version of the same thing.

The cancer survivor story that is shared again and again is built on being a victim,

even when it is dressed up with a thin layer of “I am so strong”.

Life after cancer is shown as endlessly hard, unfair and heavy.

I know those experiences are real.

I also know that they are not the only truth.

Both the hardness and the incredible opportunity can exist at the same time.

Unusual Women is for the women who feel that something else happened to them as well.

Women who were cracked open.

Women who were changed.

Women who came out the other side more awake to their lives, their bodies and their purpose.

This is what makes Unusual Women unusual.

I do not see cancer only as something that takes from you.

I see it as something that can initiate you.

My Story in brief

In July 2022, at 39, I was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer. Surgery and preventative chemotherapy followed (cap-ox), and in January 2023 I officially completed physical treatment and had my chemo port removed. But my healing wasn’t finished.

It wasn’t just about my body. It was about my soul, my identity, my sense of safety, my creativity.

I had to learn how to live again – not by going back, but by becoming more of myself. I discovered who I truly was by delving deeply into my astrology and Human design, as well as going through intense therapy and trauma release work.

Now, as a Soul Psychologist, creative mentor, and someone who has walked this path, I hold space for women finding their way after cancer.

What really is illness?

Through my own experience, I have come to see illness as one of the ways the body tries to alchemise what has not yet been felt, spoken or resolved. For me, cancer was not a foreign invader or an enemy attacking my body. It was my own cells responding to the conditions they had been living in.

My bowel cancer forced me to ask deeper questions about stress, emotional holding, patterns of over-functioning and the ways I had learned to contain rather than express. This is not a medical claim or a universal truth, but a personal understanding born from listening to my body after the fact.

It is an invitation to explore illness with curiosity rather than fear, and to consider what the body might be trying to communicate when it reaches a breaking point.

What if my Cancer was hereditary?

I also want to be clear about something that can feel sensitive. Some people experience cancer as part of a family pattern, and that matters. In my own way of seeing the world, I believe we choose the families and lineages we are born into, and that this includes the emotional and physical stories they carry.

If you incarnate into a family where illness is present, I see that as part of a soul curriculum rather than a punishment or random cruelty. That does not mean anyone is to blame, and it does not make the experience any less painful or frightening.

It simply opens another layer of meaning - that what you have lived through may connect not only to your own life, but to something that runs through your family story too. This is an invitation to hold your experience with curiosity and compassion, not judgement.

Connecting with your purpose IS the true medicine

In his book Cancer as a Turning Point, Lawrence LeShan writes about what he noticed after working with hundreds of people living with cancer. Again and again, he saw that those who had a strong sense of purpose, curiosity and zest for life were far more likely to do well long term than those who became what he called “good patients”. He noticed that those who actually ‘disobeyed’ the doctors and were not just obedient and accepting of their ‘fate’ generally had a better prognosis.

The ones who survived and truly lived did not make cancer the centre of their identity. They stayed connected to who they were, what they loved and what still mattered to them. His work was never about blame or positive thinking. It was about life force. The part of you that still wants to be here.

That is the energy Unusual Women is here to protect and bring back online.

Does this resonate with you?

If so, this might be for you… I am offering a three month 1:1 mentoring space for women who have been through cancer and know, in their gut, that there is more to be made of what they lived through.

This is for you if you have finished treatment and been given the all clear - whether that was months ago or years ago - and you still feel like something inside you has not fully settled, integrated or made sense of it all.

Sometimes you cannot name what is missing.

You just know the experience changed you, and you do not want to leave that change unexplored.

Over three months, we work together to help you process what happened, understand what it meant for you, and begin to live from the person you became because of it.

This is not about fixing you.

It is about helping you reclaim yourself.

By the end of these three months, the aim is not that you forget what you went through.

It is that you can see it clearly.

To recognise how it reshaped you.

To understand what it asked of you.

To find the meaning, direction and quiet power that can come from something so intense and life-threatening.

This work is about taking something that shook your world and using it to live more fully, more honestly and more in your truth.

It is about finding the gold inside what was so hard to go through.

My Unique Method:

Belief Alchemy

Through years of study and self-exploration, I’ve developed Belief Alchemy—a 5-step process that draws from the timeless Hero’s Journey and guides you to reshape your beliefs, habits, and sense of self from within.

REMEMBER - Understanding your personal story and patterns. The detective phase, which as a Scorpio rising, I love! This stage is a sacred process of discovery, reconnecting you with the truth of who you are.

REVEAL & RELEASE - Here, we meet the parts of ourselves we often hide away, acknowledging and integrating our shadows. By validating our deeper feelings and letting go of self-protection, we open up to a new level of self-respect, acceptance, and inner freedom. In this powerful process, you’ll clear space for new growth by consciously letting go of what’s ready to die.

RISE- Now, we shift perspective. Rewriting your story from a place of empowerment and compassion, you’ll begin to see yourself through a fresh lens, recognising your inherent strength and resilience.

RADIATE- Finally, you step forward as a liberated version of yourself. Armed with new practices, habits, and beliefs, you embody a truer, more empowered self, ready to share your gifts and insights with the world..

How I Work

My approach blends creativity, spiritual tools, and gentle mentoring. Together, we create space for both honesty and hope. There are so many times I wished I could speak to someone who understood - now I can be that for you.

My approach combines:

  • Art Therapy & Soul Mapping – using simple creative practices to express what words can’t always hold.

  • Spiritual Insight – weaving in Human Design, astrology, and numerology to bring perspective and meaning.

  • Mentoring – grounded, compassionate conversations to help you untangle fear, build trust, and imagine what’s next.

  • Rituals & Oracle Practices – gentle ways to reconnect with your intuition and body.

This is not about fixing you. You are not broken. This is about rediscovering your own wisdom and courage.

Who I work with

I work with women who have been through cancer at a younger age, completed treatment, and are now cancer free. This work is not for those still in active treatment – though I do offer resources and workshops that may support you at that stage.

The women I mentor are:

  • Ready to invest in themselves and their future

  • Willing to face parts of themselves that may feel uncomfortable

  • Open to exploring the deeper layers of their healing journey

  • Spiritual, curious, and open-minded

  • Aware that true wisdom comes from embracing all parts of themselves – not just the polished ones

This is deep soul work, and it calls in those who are ready for it.
